Meet Dr. Garcia

 Ana M. García, Ph.D.

Clinical and Health Psychologist | Founder, Anchor Clinical Psychology, LLC

I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) licensed clinical and health psychologist serving clients in Virginia. I draw on extensive clinical training and experience across diverse settings. I provide compassionate, individualized, and evidence-based therapy for adults, using a holistic, biopsychosocial approach. I tailor my therapeutic methods—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), CBT for chronic pain, and trauma-informed care—to each client’s unique needs and goals.

I emphasize the importance of behavioral habits that support emotional well-being, including increasing physical activity, improving sleep hygiene, practicing mindfulness, engaging in behavioral activation, and fostering meaningful social connections. I work collaboratively with clients to identify what matters most to them and support behavioral changes that help them engage more fully in activities reflecting their priorities and the person they aspire to be, ultimately leading to a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

I am dedicated to creating a supportive, safe, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel empowered to achieve meaningful personal growth. I have a special interest in working with women who have experienced sexual trauma or childhood trauma, and I provide support for individuals seeking help with anxiety, depression, trauma, and other emotional or behavioral challenges.

My clinical background is informed by years of service in diverse communities, including work with veterans, women’s mental health, and multicultural populations. Through Anchor Clinical Psychology, I am committed to providing high-quality, culturally sensitive mental health care and empowering clients to build resilience, restore balance, and move toward meaningful life change.
